Experience Ancient Egypt in One Day

One of the greatest advantages of staying in Hurghada is its proximity to Luxor β€” the world’s greatest open-air museum. Just a short flight away, Luxor is home to more ancient Egyptian monuments than any other place on earth, including the legendary Valley of the Kings, the massive Karnak Temple complex, and the beautifully preserved Temple of Hatshepsut.

The Pure Coastal offers day trips to Luxor by air from Hurghada, covering all the highlights in a single unforgettable day.

Valley of the Kings

Cut into the limestone cliffs on the west bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings served as the royal burial ground for the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (1550–1070 BC). Over 60 tombs have been discovered here, including the world-famous tomb of Tutankhamun, opened in 1922 by Howard Carter.

The painted walls inside the tombs are extraordinarily well-preserved, filled with elaborate scenes from the Book of the Dead and the pharaoh’s journey to the afterlife. Our guided tour includes entry to three tombs β€” the optimal way to experience the valley without rushing.

Karnak Temple Complex

Karnak is the largest ancient religious site in the world β€” a vast complex of temples, chapels, obelisks, and pylons built over 2,000 years by successive pharaohs, each adding their own mark to this sacred space. The Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 massive columns carved with hieroglyphs, is one of the most awe-inspiring sights in Egypt.

Temple of Hatshepsut

Rising in dramatic terraces against the golden cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut is one of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. Hatshepsut was one of ancient Egypt’s most successful pharaohs β€” a woman who ruled as king and left monuments that rivaled any male ruler.

Colossi of Memnon

Before crossing to the west bank, you’ll stop at the Colossi of Memnon β€” two enormous stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, each standing 18 metres tall. They’ve stood in the fields since 1350 BC and make for one of the most iconic photo stops in Egypt.
